Our volunteers organize a camp each summer for the children living in settlements. In the summer “day-care” camps in Bag and Dány the children learn arts & crafts and can participate in sports activities. It is now traditional to hold a soccer cup and a talent show on the last day of the camp, followed by a community cooking.
We place great emphasis on involving not only the local children and adults but also the representatives of the institutional system as well.
It’s a little elusive, but one of my most important achievements is that we really become a team. We have new experiences together. It is really a community-forming experience that we later talk about nostalgically with the kids – and that’s why it’s really worth doing this.
