Support Equal Opportunities with 1% of Your Tax
Did you know you can help build a more inclusive Hungary — without spending any extra money?
If you live and work in Hungary, you’re likely paying personal income tax (SZJA). What many don’t know: each year you can direct 1% of your tax to a Hungarian nonprofit of your choice. It’s free for you — but can make a huge difference for us.
What is this 1% donation?
Hungarian tax law allows anyone who pays personal income tax to allocate 1% of it to a registered civil organization — like the Bagázs Public Benefit Association.
It’s not an extra payment. It’s part of the tax you already pay.
If you don’t choose a beneficiary, that 1% goes to the central budget. But if you do, it helps a lot to civil organizations.
Why choose Bagázs?
We work with Roma communities living in deep poverty in Hungary, mainly in the villages of Bag and Dány. For over 14 years, we’ve built long-term programs in education, employment, and community support.
Your 1% helps us:
- provide mentorship for children and teens,
- support adults in finding jobs and accessing healthcare,
- empower women through local support groups,
- and advocate for long-term, systemic change.
We believe in equal chances for everyone, no matter where they’re born.
